At Passover time, Jews in Ethiopia
ask themselves “The 4 Questions”:
1. Will there be enough matzah to last 8 days?
2. Will there be enough food to put on the Sederplates?
3. Will there be food for a holiday meal?
4. Will we have enough cooking fuel?

Let’s make sure the answer to all four questions
is a resounding
YES!
Every year, right before Passover, the remaining Jewish community in Ethiopia is plagued with worry that they may not have the crucial foods-- including over 300,000 individual pieces of matzah--that they need for the annual community Seder and for the duration of the holiday.
The matzah they themselves make in advance, over outdoor fires, is virtually the only kosher-for-Passover food
available to them after the Seder. Without enough to go around, many will go hungry.
Help them celebrate Passover in a dignified way.

Matzah Baking
Before Passover, Ethiopian-Israeli teachers are sent to Gondar to help the community set up its own matzah-
matzah-baking “factory”. This factory also provides additional employment to community members.
The 300,000 matzahs are shared during the huge community Seder with over 6,000 participants, and provided to the community for the entire holiday.
